wisconsinsickness: The photo taken by H.H. Bennett in 1888 that made Wisconsin Dells famous. It captures his son jumping across to Stand Rock in absolute clarity. It was originally thought to be a fake, because cameras of the time did not seem capable of such stop-action shots. H.H. Bennett, who had wanted to become a carpenter when he was young, instead became a photographer after his right hand was crippled by an accidental discharge of his gun in the Civil War.
